A haven for countryside wildlife, our gardens are home to squirrels, hares, owls and birds of prey. Fragrant plants and flowers border our terrace where guests are encouraged to take lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments 'al fresco'. Both the Cedar Room and Orangerie open out onto our terrace, where guests can venture further into the gardens and enjoy the aesthetic planting, subtle lighting and spatial delights.
Gently sloping towards Cardiff and the Bristol Channel, the gardens were planned and laid out in the Victorian era to give panoramic views over the sea and beyond to Somerset. Distant skies are often dramatic and provide a background for the riot of colour all year round, but May is ablaze with flowering rhododendrons and azaleas. A wedding photographers dream, our grounds are the perfect photographic backdrop for a special day.
